India is a vast country with unique challenges and opportunities.
One key challenge is the provision of good quality affordable healthcare for all. While governments are continually developing the health infrastructure, there exist large gaps at present.
At Hamari Udaan, we believe that we can contribute to bridging these gaps. This belief forms the core of our medical outreach program, which came into existence in response to the devastating second wave of COVID that hit India in April 2021. The steep rise in cases quickly overwhelmed medical facilities, leading to far greater magnitude of morbidity and mortality than one could have imagined.
Medical professionals associated with Hamari Udaan have taken it upon themselves to assist in this effort.
We aim to actively identify healthcare facilities in the suburban and rural areas where infrastructure augmentation is needed in the short and long term. We will liaison with medical professionals in these facilities, determine what needs to be done, and then go ahead and do it.
This program is a definitive strategy to make our community stronger and more resilient in terms of its healthcare needs.
